Theses are awarded at the Chair of Marketing and Consumer Behavior through a standardized procedure. More information can be found on the following pages:






The following rules apply for the thesis (Diploma, Bachelor, Master) assignment:




  • The thesis must be related to the field of Marketing and Consumer Behavior.

  • You may choose a topic from the Chair's research themes (see research focuses of the staff below) or from practical experience (in this case, a project outline/description of approx. 1 A4 page must be provided).

  • Own topic suggestions are welcome. Please submit a concept of about 1 A4 page (topic, what will be written about, if it addresses a research gap, empirical or literature work, concept).

  • The number of supervised theses depends on the Chair's capacity. In case of increased demand, not all applications may be considered.

  • An application form for the thesis must be submitted.

  • The application process at the Chair does not replace registration with the examination office. Please inquire with the examination office in time about the necessary formalities!

The topics for theses are primarily, but not exclusively, aligned with the research focuses of the supervising staff of our Chair. If you want to work on a specific topic, for example, due to an internship, please contact the relevant staff member before filling out the application form for a thesis at our Chair.
